The history of «La Cornue» is the history of a family company and a great passion, which is passed on from generation to generation. Paris 1908: Albert Dupuy, distinguished gourmet and craftsman with a passion for new technology, benefits from the ingenious invention of the gas lamp. He decides to make use of the new gas supply in the city and to build the best and most reliable oven in the world. This is how the first «La Cornue roasting and baking appliance» originated, which at that time – like today – was based on the principle of baking and roasting using circulating air. In 1946 the golden age of electric household appliances dawns. André Dupuy, gourmet and imaginative inventor, modernises «La Cornue». He adapts the appliances to meet the requirements of the time and those of gourmets. This is how the Château oven series came into existence, which combines the advantages of gas and electricity in a single oven. In the middle of the 1980s André Dupuy hands over to his son Xavier, who ensures that «La Cornue» can win the hearts of gourmets outside France and Europe. The motto stays the same: tradition and innovation are inextricably linked.
